change it up!

OK --
I've made a spur of the moment decision. I'm going to change the platform that this web page is published with. Much like folks caution about constantly figuring out the best way to organize yourself so that you never have to actually do any of the work that actually needs to get done... that's what I'm going to do here.
Rather than actually post anything meaningful, I'm instead going to concentrate on changing the entire under workings of the web page.
Something that no one will notice but me.

Enjoy.

strange

The word "bloggernacle" is a word I don't comprehend.

I know Dan has thrown around the term before, but I'm not sure I knew what it was then. Seems to be mormons writing about being mormons... or mormons writing nothing about mormons. Kind of interesting.

I think I'll have to just bookmark these two links so I can check back in on them later when I have more time.

http://www.ldsblogs.org/

and

http://latterdaymainstreet.com/

Number 1 seems to be a collection of them, Number 2 was one that was linked to from Dan's site. And I haven't had time to read it yet. But I'll get there.

So this is really just a 'get back to this at some point in time' post.

This American Life, TV style

I am a big fan of the radio show "This American Life" - I have been for a while. Sometimes it's sad, sometimes it's silly, but for the most part it's usually very interesting. My mom, dad, daughter, and I still laugh about the squirrel who gets stuck in an attic, and how hard the police try to help get it out, and how wrong that scenario turns out.

Perhaps needless to say, I was thrilled when they started offering a free podcast (iTunes link) of the show. Now, even though Sirius dropped PRI from it's lineup (boo!), I can still listen to TAL every week.

For a long time now, I've thought about creating a TV show that was like TAL, except with pictures. So imagine my surprise when I see that they've finally decided to make their own TV show. They've posted some trailers for it up on their site, and I watched them and am now even more excited. Their vision for the show was way better than mine.

The cinematography looks amazing, and the glimpses of the stories they show look like they are 100% the same that are on the radio. I can't wait to watch these when the get on the air.

The only trouble is that I don't really watch TV anymore. I stopped so I could have more time to do other things. I also don't have a subscription to Showtime - and I don't see that changing anytime soon. So, for now, I'll just know that there is a TV show out there that I would like to watch... maybe I'll watch for the torrent, or just wait for the inevitable DVD to come out, and watch them then.

sports racers!

Now a days I don't know who _isn't_ a sports racer... ! But Ze Frank's show had a fantastic episode the other day that I've just got to link to.

the show with zefrank

It's about a guy named "ray" who was trying to help out his daughter who had a bad day at work. He's a preacher so she thought he could give her some comfort, or maybe offer a prayer for her. Instead he told her to walk back in to work, and sing to herself, "I'm about to whip somebody's ass"...

It's a catchy little tune.

I like the story behind the song as told by Ray. Perhaps you can use this song at your work too.

Thanks Ze!
